半月板损伤是关节外科常见的疾病。半月板是膝关节中间位于股骨和胫骨之间两片半月形的垫片，内外侧各有一片，分别称内侧半月板和外侧半月板。半月板主要为纤维软骨，因慢性劳损或外伤，可出现变性破裂。半月板损伤可在关节镜下手术治疗。

每个膝关节里都有两片“C”形的楔状软骨垫片。每个膝关节内这两个垫片被称为“半月板（复数形式为menisci)”，每一个垫片就称为“半月板（单数形式为meniscus)”。特定的运动，比如膝关节扭转，会引起半月板撕裂。在许多时候，会使用关节镜手术来治疗半月板撕裂。

Preparation（准备）

Inpreparationfortheprocedure,youareanesthetized.Thesurgeoncreatesaseriesofsmallopeningsinyourskin.Anarthroscopeisplacedthroughoneoftheopenings.Thisisaviewingdevicethatallowsthesurgeontoseeinsideyourknee.Moresurgicalinstrumentsareplacedthroughtheotheropenings.

准备手术时，先实施麻醉。术者在皮肤上作一系列小开口。通过一个开口放入关节镜，这个观察设备让术者能看清膝关节内部。通过其它的开口，可以放入其它的手术设备。

Repair（修复）

Thesurgeoncarefullyinspectsyourkneejoint.Ifanyloosefragmentsoftissuearefound,theyareremoved.Thesurgeonevaluatesyourmeniscus.Inmanycases,atornmeniscuscanberepairedwithsuturesandanchorsthatsecureittothebone.Ifyourmeniscusisbadlytorn,orifthetearisinapartofthemeniscusthatisnotlikelytohealwell,yoursurgeonmaychoosetoremovethedamagedportion.

术者仔细检查膝关节。如果发现有游离体组织，就将它们去除。术者对半月板进行评估。有时，撕裂的半月板可通过缝线或将它锚固于骨头上来修复。如果半月板严重撕裂，或撕裂的部位在难以愈合的部位，术者会选择将破损的那部分的半月板去除。
